What each tool is

Meshy

Meshy is a browser based generative AI tool that creates 3D models from text prompts, single images or multi view image sets. It is built by a Silicon Valley company founded in 2021 whose team came out of the Taichi high performance graphics project, and it outputs textured and optionally rigged meshes in roughly a minute. In a pipeline it fits the early blocking, prototyping and asset population stages rather than replacing hand modeling, and it runs entirely in the browser with no local GPU. The current model generation is Meshy-6, released in January 2026.

Rodin (Hyper3D)

Rodin is the generative 3D engine of the Hyper3D platform, built by Deemos, a company spun out of ShanghaiTech University in 2020 that first made its name in film grade facial scanning (its Dome Light Field rig produced digital doubles for The Wandering Earth 2). That research heritage shows: Rodin is a native 3D diffusion model based on the CLAY architecture, which earned a Best Paper Honorable Mention at SIGGRAPH 2024, and it leads the category on geometric fidelity, quad topology output and material quality rather than speed. The Gen-2.5 release pushed generation past ten million polygons with 3D native texturing. The notable trade offs are the absence of built in auto rigging and premium per model costs. Deemos licenses training data commercially, including a Shutterstock 3D asset agreement, and sponsors the Blender Development Fund at Gold level.
