Privacy
3D Tool Wiki is a static website. It has no accounts, no logins, no comments and no newsletter, so there is nothing here for you to sign up to and no database of readers to keep. What follows is the complete list of what does get collected, and by whom.
The free browser tools never receive your files
The 3D viewers, the GLB to STL converter and the mesh diagnostics all run inside your browser using JavaScript on your own machine. The model you open is read from your disk by the page and never sent anywhere. There is no upload endpoint, no server-side processing and no storage: closing the tab ends it. This is a property of how the tools are built rather than a policy we promise to follow, which is why the same sentence appears on the tool pages themselves.
Analytics
The site loads Google Analytics 4 (property G-R8GZVC27V5) on production pages. It records the usual page-level measurements: which page was viewed, roughly where in the world the request came from, what kind of device and browser, and which site referred you. It is used to see which guides are read and which are not. It is not used for advertising, and no data is sold or shared with advertisers.
Google sets its own cookies for this. If you would rather it did not, browser-level tracking protection, an extension that blocks the tag, or the Global Privacy Control signal will all stop it, and the site works normally without it. Nothing on this site depends on analytics running.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which serves every request and therefore processes the associated connection data, including your IP address, as part of delivering pages and protecting against abuse. That is the standard processing any web host performs.
Embedded video
Some tool entries and guides reference videos published on YouTube. Two things are worth separating here. The still thumbnail is fetched from Google's image servers when the page loads, so Google can see that a request was made. The video player itself is not loaded until you click play: until that click there is no YouTube iframe and no YouTube cookie. Once you do click, YouTube's own privacy terms apply to what happens inside the player.
What is not here
- No advertising network and no ad tracking.
- No affiliate links. If that ever changes, the change will be disclosed on the affected pages and on How We Review.
- No third-party font, icon or script CDN. The typeface is self-hosted.
- No cross-site tracking pixels, no session recording and no heatmaps.
- Site search runs against a static index in your browser. What you type into it is not transmitted anywhere.
Children
This site is aimed at people working with 3D software. It is not directed at children and collects nothing knowingly from them.
Changes
When the site starts or stops using something that touches this page, this page is edited in the same change. There is no dated revision log because the site is small enough that the page either matches the code or is a bug.
